In conjunction with SASNet, we invite you to participate in a free training seminar on using administrative and other datasets to inform policy regarding social care in England being held by Professor Julien Forder. It will consider relevant policy issues and sources of data. The main barriers will be discussed, including methodological issues and practical issues, including information governance. The presentation will cover some examples of what can be done using secondary analysis of big data in this field.
Professor Julien Forder is Professor of the Economics of Social Policy and Deputy Director of PSSRU at the University of Kent and a Principal Research Fellow at the London School of Economics. Julien is an economist and conducts research in social care and health care. He takes an active interest in social care policy. In the past Julien has undertaken secondments to the King’s Fund as project lead for the Wanless social care review and to the Strategy Unit in the Department of Health, providing advice to Ministers on social care and related areas of health policy.
This seminar is aimed at Local Authorities and Academics. The audience will gain an understanding of what can be done using secondary analysis of big data to inform policy regarding social care.
