What is Big Data?
How does it affect you; the decisions you make; the services you receive; and the environment that you live in? This autumn the Business and Local Government Data Research Centre (BLG) are running a free lecture series at the University of Kent. This will be open to the general public, private and public sector employees, university staff and students to attend. Come along to hear experts from the public and private sectors, and the world of academia explore what Big Data can do to enhance the environment, evolve business, and empower society!

Event details:
Big Data is mapping the road to future business success through improved marketing, risk forecasting, smoother and more streamlined processes and procedures; and increased product offerings. On Thursday 19 October 2017, join us and our expert panel at the University of Kent, Medway Campus to hear how Big Data is playing a huge part in advancing business; and how it is being used in industry.

Jerry Coakley, Professor of Finance at Essex Business School, and deputy Director and co-lead on the local economic growth stream at BLG, will lead this session and be joined by other experts in this field to discuss their views and experiences on the ways that Big Data can evolve business.

Speakers will discuss their views and experiences, and will then join a panel to answer audience queries.

This event took place on Thursday 19 October. The speaker presentations are available to download.
