The popularity of social media sites and the ease at which its data is available means these platforms are increasingly becoming primary sources for professionals, businesses, and academics.
In this webinar Dr. Kamaran Fathulla, Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester Business School, will demonstrate the power and versatility of the Python programming language to access, manipulate, and visualise Twitter data. Attendees will gain an understanding of the programming constructs and techniques used to tap into Twitter data.
Attendees should have a basic level of programming skills, not necessarily in Python.

Presenter Background
Dr Kamaran Fathulla, Senior Lecturer in Software Development at the University of Chichester Business School, started his teaching career in 1991 working as a part time lecturer at the University of Salford, and then began an academic career in the Gulf Region from 1996 to 2002, working as a senior lecturer and Head of the IT and Computing Section. Kamaran moved back to the UK to work as a senior lecturer in Information Systems at the University of Northampton, before moving on to become a senior instructor in Computing and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex. Prior to moving to the University of Chichester Kamaran worked as a Burnham Lecturer in Computer Science at two academic establishments with the Ministry of Defence in the UK. The first role was with the Royal School of Military Survey and the second was with the Defence School.
Kamaran’s teaching interests are varied with specific interests in Big Data, HCI, Databases, Cyber Security, Web Services, and anything to do with Programming particularly in Python.
