What can Big Data tell us?

Each transaction, tube journey or tweet now adds to the enormous volume of data we generate in near real time. These data get collated in enormous databases that offer a rich resource for those wanting to better understand human behaviour. The Business and Local Government Data Research Centre will be exhibiting as part of this conference alongside the Consumer Data Research Centre, the Urban Big Data Centre and the UK Data Service.

The Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC) will be hosting a panel session at this years Annual Conference. They will also have an exhibition that will feature a showcase from each of the Economic & Social Research Council’s (ESRC) Big Data Network centres. It will include individual and unique research, interactive visualisations and data services that can be utilised by the wider academic community to progress research. The exhibition will focus on Big Data, what it can tell us and how the academic community can tap into each of our individual and unique resources to progress research.
